How to Assign a Shift Manager and Understand Their Permissions in WeezCrew

In WeezCrew, you can appoint a Shift Manager to delegate the management of a specific shift (for example: Reception Lead, Bar Manager, etc.) without granting them access to your entire event or other shifts.

Step 1: Register the Member in the Database

Before appointing someone as a Shift Manager, they must exist in your event's database:

  • Either by registering in advance through one of your registration forms.

  • Or via a manual addition performed in the Members module.

Step 2: Step-by-Step Procedure to Assign a Shift Manager

  1. Go to the Shifts module.

  2. Click on the relevant shift.

  3. Locate the Manager box on the page.

  4. Click to add a member, then search for and select the desired person.

  5. Choose the appropriate role level to assign:

    • Project manager, publisher (or Shift Manager Editor Access): Allows editing member assignments across time slots for that shift and sending email campaigns.

    • Reader Mission Manager (or Shift Viewer-Only Access): Allows viewing data only (inspecting the shift and assigned members list) without permission to edit.

  6. Click Save.

The member will automatically receive an email containing a link to log into their dedicated space.

Step 3: Interface and Access Scope for Mission Managers

When a Shift Manager logs into WeezCrew, their interface is simplified and strictly limited to their scope:

  • Restricted Sidebar: Reduced number of accessible modules compared to a General Administrator.

  • Members Module: Only displays members assigned to the shift they manage.

  • Shift Module: Only shows the shift(s) for which they hold management rights.

  • Campaigns Module: Can send emails exclusively to volunteers/staff assigned to their specific shift (no access to the rest of the event's database).
