How to Configure Your DNS Records for WeezCrew on Gandi

Proper DNS configuration is essential to ensure maximum email deliverability (schedule updates, event briefings, and automated notifications) to your members, volunteers, and accredited guests.

This guide walks you through configuring the 4 DNS records required by WeezCrew using the Gandi v5 interface.

Step 1: Retrieve Your DNS Records in WeezCrew

  1. Log in to your WeezCrew admin dashboard.

  2. Go to Settings (Paramètres), then select Email.

  3. Select your custom domain name (e.g., your-domain.com).

  4. In the DNS Records (Entrées DNS) section, locate the 4 generated records:

    • 3 CNAME records

    • 1 TXT record

  5. Keep this tab open or carefully copy the Names (hosts) and their corresponding Values.

Step 2: Access Your DNS Zone in Gandi (v5 Interface)

  1. Log in to your Gandi Customer Portal.

  2. In the left-hand navigation menu, click Domain Names (Noms de domaine).

  3. Select your domain from the list.

  4. On the domain overview dashboard, open the DNS Records tab (Enregistrements DNS).

ℹ️ Note: If the DNS Records tab is greyed out or missing, your domain is not currently using Gandi's LiveDNS name servers. You must configure these records within the control panel of the DNS provider your nameservers point to.

Step 3: Add the 4 DNS Records

For each of the 4 entries provided by WeezCrew, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the green Add button in the upper right corner (or click the Pencil / Edit icon if modifying an existing entry).

  2. Fill out the record fields:

    • Type: Select CNAME or TXT according to the entry being added.

    • Name (Nom): Enter the subdomain or host prefix provided by WeezCrew.

    • TTL: Leave the default value (e.g., 10800 or 300).

    • Value (Valeur): Paste the exact target value supplied by WeezCrew.

  3. Click Save (Enregistrer).

⚠️ Syntax Warning for CNAME Records: If you enter a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) into the Value field, make sure to add a trailing period at the end (e.g., host.example.com.). This prevents Gandi from automatically appending your root domain to the end of the destination value.

Step 4: Propagation Delays and Validation

Once all 4 entries are saved, global DNS propagation typically requires between 15 minutes and 24 hours.

When propagation is complete, the status indicator for each DNS record will switch to green within your WeezCrew dashboard.
